MASK CHANGING (BIAN LIAN)
Bian lian, or face changing, is a traditional Sichuan art famous for transforming elaborate masks in the blink of an eye. Rex Teo travelled to Chengdu, China, specifically to study the specialised methods behind this rare craft.
Since then, Rex has brought bian lian to audiences at the Supreme Court of Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa and the Indonesian Chinese Clan Social Association. His television appearance on Mediacorp's The Sheng Siong Show also introduced this traditional art form to a national audience.
With colourful costumes, expressive characters and rapid mask changes, the act creates mystery and excitement without depending on spoken language. The sense of wonder builds as the masks change in rapid succession, creating a memorable experience for guests of all ages.

WUSHU
Wushu is a sport and performance discipline combining speed, strength, precision, flexibility and artistry. The RexArts team includes experienced athletes and medal-winning practitioners who have taken part in national and international Wushu competitions.
Our repertoire spans bare-hand forms, taolu and weapons such as spear, sword and cudgel, alongside styles including long fist and southern fist. Training also develops jumping techniques, controlled weapon movements, balance and recognised difficulty movements used within competitive routines.
Many team members began as students in RexArts classes before progressing through years of training, Wushu competitions and live performance. This journey has given them a deeper understanding of Wushu, from technical execution and competition standards to the discipline, control and stage presence needed for a strong performance.

CHINESE DRUMS
Chinese drumming brings powerful rhythm, synchronised movement and immediate energy to the stage. The deep sound of the drums can command attention from the first beat, making this act particularly effective as an opening for celebrations and launches.
Our drum team has performed under demanding schedules—including 15 performances across six days—demonstrating the stamina, consistency and professionalism needed for live entertainment.

FLAG ACROBATICS
The act works especially well in larger venues and outdoor spaces, where the scale of the flags can be fully appreciated. The combination of choreography, rhythm and visual movement creates a striking display that keeps spectators engaged from start to finish.
The act works especially well where there is enough height and floor space for larger movements. Depending on the venue, our team can also advise on practical staging considerations such as performance area, clearance and carpet surfaces.

LION DANCE
Welcome prosperity, good fortune and festive energy with our auspicious lion dance team. A familiar part of Chinese celebrations, the performance combines lively movement, music and symbolism to create an engaging experience for guests.
